Lauren Cony  received her B.A. in Piano cum laude from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, and a M.M. from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her principal teachers include Sharon Mann, Paul Hersh, Pola Baytelman, and Laurette Goldberg on harpsichord. She is an alumna of the Bowdoin Summer Chamber Music Festival, the Banff Centre for the Arts Summer Chamber Music Program, and Oberlin in Casalmaggiore, Italy. She teaches at the San Francisco Conservatory and the San Francisco Community Music Center, and maintains a busy private studio. As an active performer, she plays frequently in both solo and ensemble recitals, and has collaborated with such distinguished artists such as soprano Lucine Amara and clarinetist Richard Stoltzman. This is her third appearance playing chamber music in the Hillside Concerts Series.

Mark Shannon  is an active Bay Area musician, playing with the San Jose, Santa Rosa, and Monterey Symphonies, as well as freelancing with the San Francisco Symphony, Opera and Ballet Orchestras. In addition to playing in orchestras, he enjoys playing chamber music and has performed with ensembles such as the San Francisco Contemporary Chamber Players, Ear Play, and the Empyrean Ensemble. He also participates in Community Outreach programs such as the San Jose Symphony's Project Music, and has been involved in the San Francisco Symphony's Adventures in Music program, playing for 3rd -5th graders throughout San Francisco public schools. Mark studied clarinet with Donald Carroll while at San Francisco State, and with Rossario Mazzeo at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he received his Master's Degree.
