Recently emerging as an extremely gifted composer, Ms. Zaretsky has had over ten World Premieres in the past season. Her cello concerto was premiered in January ‘98 by the Antara Chamber Orchestra with the acclaimed soloist Eugene Moye, who commissioned the piece. The trio for soprano, violin and piano, performed at the "Alternative Shubertiad" has received a favorable mention in the New York Times. The duo for violin and viola, which was commissioned by the Paganini Duo, is going to be recorded this spring. Her piece for three violins and piano has been released on a CD: "The Three Violinists in concert". A Juilliard production of Shakespeare’s "Winter’s Tale", for which Ms. Zaretsky was contracted to write the music, was performed in February and April of ‘99. Her Piano Trio #1 was performed by the St. Lukes Orchestra’s chamber music series on February 17, ’99. Piano Trio #2 has been commissioned and performed by Lisa Tipton at Weill Recital Hall in February ’00. Ms. Zaretsky wrote the score for a short silent movie "Pas de deux" by a talented young director Nara Garber, that has been released in October ’99. She is currently working on a clarinet quintet, which was commissioned by the Suennanova Festival, where she is going to be the pianist and Composer in residence this summer. Ms. Zaretsky received the ASCAP Annual Composition Award for 1999.

Ms. Zaretsky’s most recent performing season has been extremely busy, consisting of over 30 solo and chamber-music concerts. It was highlighted by performances at Lincoln Center’s Russian Music Festival - a solo recital of Russian music, including her own piano works, and a chamber music recital with sopranos Constance Green and Ellen Lang, premiering Ms. Zaretsky’s duet, set to the words of the great Russian poet Mandelshtam. In the winter, Ms. Zaretsky toured Israel with a series of solo and duo recitals. Most recently, she was the featured pianist in the World Premiere of "The Three Violinists" in Baltimore. This exiting performance with the international prize-winning virtuoso violinists, Andrew Haveron, Florin Croitoru, and Emil Chudnovsky, from England, Romania, and Russia respectively, has been released as a CD and includes Ms. Zaretsky’s work "Shadows of the world appear..." for three violins and piano. In the summer Ms. Zaretsky toured in Europe, performing her works for solo piano. Several of her chamber music works have been performed at the Cannes Music Festival in Italy. For the celebration of the Millennium Ms. Zaretsky was asked to perform at the Grand Theatre in Havana, Cuba.
